What is Urban Wildbeing?

Creating new stories and habits

Healthy nature connection

Caring for the living world

We all have a relationship with the natural world — whether we pay attention to it or not. There are parts we love, parts we dislike or fear, and parts we ignore.

In urban life, it’s especially easy to lose touch with the living systems around us. Yet we are still part of them. When we start to notice, we see that each of our unique relationships with the natural world are shaped by stories — from our families, our culture, our experiences, and ourselves. These stories shape what we value, what we care for, and how we belong.

When we begin to uncover our own story — our Wildstory — we can reshape it. We can reconnect with our animal selves, our wild neighbours, and the ecosystems we’re part of. That’s where the magic happens.

It was my own voyage of discovery in nature connection that led me to create Urban Wildbeing — a way of reclaiming my story, caring in new ways, improving my wellbeing, finding belonging, and rediscovering my own wild nature.

Urban Wildbeing is no longer just something I do. It’s something I am.

Reclaim your Wildstory

Improve your wellbeing, care for nature.

We all have a Wildstory. How do you live yours? Who are the heroes, who are the villains? What’s your role?

Art meets science in these interactive and collaborative workshops, in which alongside others you will unearth your personal story of nature-relating, make sense of how it’s been shaped, and craft your next chapters as the author and lead character.

About Me

I’m a nature-lover, storyteller, urban dweller, a wildlife rehabilitator…and an Urban Wildbeing.

The official bit is that I’m a Chartered Research & Teaching Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society.

My research and practice focus on our relationships with the environments in which we live, work and play. I provide services as a consultant in leadership, health & wellbeing, and learning & development, and work as an academic researcher in nature connection in urban environments.

Alongside my professional practice I run a small, licensed wildlife sanctuary from my home in Beverley.

You can find out more about me and my work here:

“The wild heart knows no boundaries, for it beats to the rhythm of untamed winds and silent woods.”
